This is a good book with a lot of useful information. There wasn't a lot of new concepts that hasn't been told by other teachers. Except the Portal of Wellness and how he connected to the Chakra System. I have been meditating and using the Portal system. It works and one of the best systems I have seen that deals with the issues of shame, guilt and abandonment. For this alone I recommend that you purchase this book.

This is a wonderful book. Have you ever got the feeling that you know somethings and just cant express them?Well, Dr Martinez gives words to your feelings and takes you on the path of clarity and understanding. It has personally helped me with my struggles with neuralgia,heart disease and psoriasis.There are many feel good books out there, this is not one of them. Dr Martinez knows what he is talking about. Wonderful book, but please give time and work on its wisdom.

I thought this book was fabulous. I especially enjoyed all the references to medical anthropology and his story about how shame during menopause between Japanese and Peruvian women was such a clear example of how our culture get under our skin, and into our body and changes how our body functions at a biological level. Some helpful meditations as well.

I am inspired to be a healthy narcissist. I tend to put others before me most of the time. Since reading your book, I am more sassy and alive in a good way. Yes, also healthfully connected to others. At first I was like, this is for women. And then as I kept going, I was like. I felt this way too. It's a great uplifting, get back on your feet, move on, live love laugh book. You can probably use a quote for everyday. A lot of people have a hard time trying to articulate their emotions, and are looking for a way to do it or looking for someone to get it out for them whether it be in music or art. This book does it with words.

I really loved this book... It’s a great read and has some of the best poetry i’ve read. Bought a second one for my best friends’ grad gift bc I loved it so much.

What an excellent journey that Renaada Williams took me on. So much inspiration gleaned from pain. Very well done indeed!

Short poems I read it in less than 2 hrs but speaks to depths of my soul

although i liked so many of the poems it didnt take me long to read it. maybe 10 minutes. love the book cover feel and look.

This is a refreshing read. I love the context of it. As I read it I notice grammatical errors here and there that I actually appreciate because to me poetry is art and although art has guidelines it has no rules. The writer did her own thing and I appreciate the originality.

This book was wonderful. I imagine I'll be reading it several more times in the future.

The book was defiantly smaller than I thought but there are poems on both sides of every page. I love the attitude of the whole book itself. I had bought 1 for myself and 1 for my best friend who is going through some things right now, and 1 for my younger sister in-law that I knew this book would one day be something she would appreciate. Every poem is something almost everyone can relate to and has experienced. It’s a great nightly read and reflection book. Highly recommend it.

Unfortunately it is a good book but if you want to find something specific it is nearly impossible. Chapters are put in order in a strange way so that information for the same matter is "scattered" all over the book.

I was annoyed through most of the book because of the unecessary money they spent on a trip to the Bahamas. I can't imagine going to the Bahamas, always trying to get a slip, not snorkeling, and worrying about sand on your feet and in your boat. However, it made me appreciate the knowledge I already have and what not to do on my trip to the Bahamas. It was fun, informative and a fairly reasonable source of info for a cruise to the Bahamas. I would suggest he hire an English major at the college to proof read the book before publishing. There were way too many punctuation errors, mispelled words, run on sentences, and paragraphs that talked about more than one subject.

It't a Tavel log that puts to much emphasis on the writer and his great accomplishments. We don't care about every detail of how you tie up your boat. The sailing classes that the writer took are good courses but most of us have also taken them and don't feel the need to bore others with trivial details. I was hoping for an informative book about the area as well as some basic entertainment. Won't buy another of his book.

Not very well written. I wanted to like it so I Kept reading but I've read better sailing stories.

A good readable tale about a personal transformation from boater to cruiser. For those of us who have cast off the lines the story is a poignant reminder of where we have all come from. There are the cringe worthy moments when things don't work just right as well as the joys that come to those who persevere. You can armchair quarterback, or you can say why didn't I think of that? Either way the details are real and the prose is fluid and makes for an enjoyable way to pass a few hours.

Good info for keeping track of expenses. I would have enjoyed more descriptions of surroundings. Good read for those thinking sailing through shallow water

A good read. A bit heavy with nautical terms and statistics. An eye opener for anyone thinking cruising is cheap.

I am a sailor with a fair amount of cruising experience, but I have not made it to the Bahamas yet. I thought that this book my help me to get some insight into cruising there. I was a bit disappointed. He is a man with a big budget and stays at marinas, but mentions the Pardeys.He goes into detail about his difficulty in docking, but I am lost. A diagram might be nice.The author travels from marina to marina and does not say much about the sailing there. Why not? That part was quite frustrating.I just did not get the point......

Well well-written. Interesting read for those with common interest. Lots of detail. The good the bad and the ugly. Nice job

For Rulers: Priming Political Leaders for Saving Humanity from Itself This book interestingly surveys the evolution of contradictory ideas on the desired and the foreseeable nature of the State of Israel: Saving Jews or Judaism; being a Western type liberal democracy or a Halachic state; encompassing pre-1967 territories vs. all of the Promised Land; ingathering most of the Jewish people or being but a part of global Judaism; integrating in an Arab Middle-East or constitution a fortress of enlightenment in a unstable region; and more. I found chapter six especially noteworthy. In contrast to most comparable books, it discusses the growing Israeli Diaspora in the USA and Germany, opinions regarding Jewish dispersal as normatively superior to having a Jewish state, and various alternative utopias on Jewish communities outside Israel. But I was surprised that the book by Yuri Slezkine The Jewish Century (2004) wase not mentioned, though I think it is quite relevant. With all its many merits, the book has a number of weaknesses. Thus, the author states “there is still widespread resistance to the recognition of a Jewish state, and calls for its destruction come from as nearby as Gaza and as far away as Iran” (page 284). This is correct but unbalanced. In addition to the peace treaties with Egypt and Jordan, which are mentioned in passing, the important Saudi Peace Initiative and increasing cooperation with a number of Arab states must be added to the assessment, but are ignored. Even more misleading is the statement “the projected number of people living in Israel in four or five decades will be about fifteen million…This would undoubtedly result in a serious deterioration in the quality of life and in an ecological disaster” (page 286). Citing one book, as the author does, is definitely not enough for supporting such a postulate. The author is no expert on modern technologies which reduce the significance of space as limiting population. Probably is he not familiar with Singapore. If he had limited himself to pointing at a possible problem of population pressure this would have been more than enough, instead of “undoubtedly” presuming to foresee the future of the population-carrying capacities of Israel as a high-tech country. To add a minor problem, I was quite irritated by the multiple inclusions in the bibliography of a book which has apparently not yet been published and is not even mentioned by AMAZON as forthcoming. I am referring to Michael Brenner and Pamela S. Nadell, eds. Reinventing Israel in the Twenty-First Century, Detroit: Wayne State University Press, 2018 – which I am eager to read but could not locate.Moving to what is really important: This book provides some explanations for the changes of ideas and their significance, such as diverse waves of immigration and differential birth rates. It is legitimate not to go deeper into theory design. But I think the author missed a chance to develop at least a conjectural theory based on his findings.Thus, I think the text justifies the overall empiric conclusion that all pre-Six Day War hopes and anticipations have been falsified by post-Six Day War developments (as well as by techno-economic innovations -- as also demonstrated by Kibbutz transformations –- which are quite ignored in the book). From this solid finding of the book I jump to a broad theoretic generalization: The vast majority of ideas on the future fail the test of time, because of unforeseen and often unforeseeable events and processes. Pushing ahead, because of highly likely radical socio-economic and geo-political transformations (related in literature to the “Singularity” hypothesis), nearly all contemporary ideas on the future of Israel, even if based on seemingly solid demographic predictions, are at best guesstimated conjectures quite likely to prove wrong. But I go beyond what can reasonably be expected from the book. As it is, I highly recommend it as a good depiction with some analysis of changing ideas on what Israel should and (to move to another, though partly overlapping, level) will become.Professor Yehezkel DrorThe Hebrew University of Jerusalem

This is a gorgeous book about 24 places where you can see art in the outdoors. Most are sculpture parks, but a few are something else -- James Turrell's Roden Crater in Arizona, for example. The venues are beautifully photographed, and the write-ups that accompany the photos are informative. As a guide to these 24 places, this is definitely a five star book. My only problem is the venues which are NOT included, which to my mind include some should-not-be-missed sites. There is, for example, a nod to the Storm King Art Center, in the form of a photo and a reference in the introduction, but the place merits a fuller treatment. In addition, I was disappointed when I found that the Hakone Outdoor Museum outside of Tokyo was not included, and would have loved to have seen Sweden's Wan sculpture garden included.For those who want a book that shows many beautiful outdoor gardens, this is perfect. For those who want a wider-ranging and more practical guide to places they might want to visit, additional information would be helpful -- for example, "Sculpture Parks in Europe: A Guide to Art and Nature".

This is a beautiful book, but there is a glaring editorial or publishing error at the end of the Roden Crater chapter,where the text is mid sentence and should continue on the next page, but does not.There is a large photo and a blank column on that page and that's the end of that chapter.I'm dying to know what it should say about the artist. Can you please send me a corrected copy.This mars an otherwise excellent book.

For those interested in land art (of a kind) and outdoor art of various types, this is a delicious book. As you can see from my pics, "art" in this book takes a variety of forms: some is very different from the landscape itself, while some of it is quite integrated. Land artist James Turrell shows up in this book, but the most popular and most well known land artists -- Andrew Goldsworthy -- does not. Folks like Smithson (think "Spiral Jetty") and Dennis Oppenheim (he's done sooooo much crazy stuff) are also absent in this book, as it's not a rehashing of well known outdoor and land artists. I think that's a bit refreshing, as there are some names and installations I haven't seen before in this book.As for the book itself, it's solid and well made: large images, vibrant colors, quality papers, and a solid binding. I'm impressed with this book as it's full of inspirational ideas.
