We have used many of the full edition Eyewitness Travel guides as our main references for over 10 years. Our first use of the abbreviated Top 10 Montreal and Quebec was a waste of money! Their attempt at categorization of sites, activities, and food lumped both cities under the same category! Therefore, while in one city, the information was littered with things from the other city. Extremely illogical organization left the book basically unusable as a travel guide while in either city. The editor may have seen this as saving replication at the tab level, but whenever a page was turned, the information was for the other city - useless, since most of us have not mastered the ability to be in two places at the same time. Therefore it did not present any help while actually touring either city.

The Eyewitness Travel Guides reliably deliver the most pertinent information and selected tourist sites that are especially helpful to the traveler making a first visit – and a short stay – at a new destination. This guide to Montreal and Quebec City provides just that. The book is compact, easy to carry about and consult, and offers enough tips and directions to get you started. Well-written with an adequate number of photos, the guide is a great source in itself, and it becomes even more useful in accompaniment with online travel sites.For longer visits to different locations, I sometimes take one of the Eyewitness series books as well as a guide that is more in-depth with more history provided along with cultural and social contexts. It’s often difficult to find publication dates with travel guides, but obviously the more recent edition you can find, the better. For my recent ten-day visit to Montreal this combination worked well, and I was happy to be carrying this guide.

This guide book is filled with colorful pictures and list top-10 tourist spots in Montreal and Quebec, it almost list top-10 tourist spots, dining, shopping, night life etc in different sections of the cities. Overall it's an excellent guide book to accompany one's trip to Monteral/Quebec.The only problem is after visiting some of the top-10 spots I find myself disagreeing with the choice of the author. While some interesting spots were left out of given less attention. Some information is also outdated or incorrect, such as museum opening hours.For example, while the cross on Mount Royal has historical significance, the steel structure itself is unimpressive and I doubt whether it's worth walking half-way through Mount-Royal Park just to see the cross.Another example is the Museum of French America in Quebec city, which houses many interesting exhibits but it wasn't even mentioned in the guide.Apart from tourists spots, I also find myself disagreeing with some top-10 restaurants picks. For example, the Alphenaus restaurant (in downtown Montreal) recommended by the guide is located in a kind-of-run-down neighbourhood and AAA only gives it 2 diamonds. There are some good picks though, like Le Latini in Montreal.One last glitch about this travel guide is the inclusion of some seemingly irrelevant information. While it's good to know about Celine Dion or the separatist movement, I'm not sure how useful that information is to my trip.Summary:The good:Clear, concise, numbered list of tourist attractions, restaurants, etc. Also some travel tips. Most attractions lists are show on mini-map and nearest metro station, which makes the job of finding that attraction/restaurant a lot easier.The bad:some out-dated information, some top-10 picks questionableThe bottomline:This is an excellent guide to accompany anyone travelling to Montreal/Quebec city

So you slowly can work yourself through the areas that really interest you by easily skipping things you would not want to see or visit at all.It also makes it easy to find the things that are important to you because the descriptions are small enough and pictures further make it easy to attract your interest or pass things by.The MINUS: 4 Stars!The good about the Maps is that they are there at all and also that there is an index of some streets.The contained foldout maps though helpful when there is nothing else at all are not my favorite because they are quite small and are more an overview to identify the area where something is to be found on a better more detailed map. The same maps as the foldouts are also on a separate map that is detachable. This is a good idea but they are way to small and hard to read especially in dim light and in an awkward format to be really useful. - When available, I rather get a local map from the tourist office and transfer my destinations to it.SUMMARY: 5 Stars!This guide is an extremely useful sightseeing guide and small enough to be carried with you all the time for quick reference. It also allows you to choose the amount of detail you want to follow for the town: top 10 Highlights - top 10 to each highlight - top ten to some general categories like museums, bars, hotels, restaurants, shopping, and also some specific categories just for this destination like historic sights in old Quebec or places of natural beauty.Just watch out for one quirky approach of this specific TOP 10 guide: the top ten list contains sights for BOTH cities. Listing the top tens for each city individually would have been a better choice because they are too far apart to visit them together and mix their top 10s.Insider tips or as they call the sections: "Street smart" round up this little guide. The maps are OK but could be improved. The deficiency of the maps though should not detract from the overall usefulness of this guide for your destination. Much of what I loved about The Mountain and the Fathers had to do with my shared experience with Joe Wilkins. I grew up just a few miles up the road from where most of this story takes place. But there's way more to Wilkins' writing than that. Wilkins explores the sense of isolation and not fitting in as well as any writer I've read since Richard Ford. The knowledge that there's more to the world but that he's not in a position to explore it pervades the early pages of this book and gives it a sense of desperation that I know so well. And it makes the reader root for a better future for our narrator. I can't imagine any better accomplishment than that for a memoir. But on top of that, the poet in Wilkins brings a lyrical quality to the prose that is sometimes stunning. This is an amazing book.

Gems like this are rare indeed, really glad I found it. The book is a quick read, short chapters, perfect quality over excessive quantity. Every word of every sentence takes a huge role in forming the wings that lifts this story into the stratosphere. If you love creative writing this book transcends and delivers, only problem is it'll most likely make the next book you read feel anemic. PS: If you goggle the Author's home town, it really help this city slicker to visualize life iin Big Sky country.

I've never been to the Big Dry in Montana, but Wilkins does a great job of evoking it--a hard land, and a challenging place for kids who haven't yet hardened. Wilkins is at his best when he explores divides--between generations, between poor and poorer, between the "soft" world of school/education (not to mention poetry) and the rugged and gritty landscape. And he's at his best a lot. The language here is infused with a kind of beautiful melancholy. This isn't just another memoir of the West, however--that's been done before. What most impresses me is Wilkins' ability to pull the reader back into childhood, into the physical and emotional growing pains and pangs of coming of age. Parts of this book reminded me of those wonderful childhood scenes from Terrence Malick's The Tree of Life--by turns befuddled and amazed by the confounding world of adults, with the camera perpetually looking up (at fathers, mothers, grandfathers, brothers, those cagey friends who've tasted the apple--or at least boast that they have--before you even knew the apple was there). And hurtling, terrified, toward the future, or as Housman puts it, in what would serve as a fitting epigraph for this book, "I, a stranger and afraid/in a World I never made." Highly recommended.

This book tells the truth, unvarnished, swept raw by fierce prairie winds, and battered by hail storms. Joe Wilkins has laid his soul bare, but not barren - he has uncorked a pent-up emotional bottle to beat back the drought, to bring some clarity to remembered pieces of his unique upbringing.As a native Montanan, I visited the Jersey Lily many years ago, and it has so much more meaning to me now that I've read this remarkable memoir. My Montana, though truth for me, is so different from Joe Wilkins' experience; but I suppose that's the terrific beauty of our native state - it can encompass all these truths, all the mothers and fathers and grandfathers, the mythic stoicism of the self-reliant farmer and rancher, the homesteaders of our past and present. I will always love Montana, and more so, somehow, after reading this brilliant book. Thank you.

Wilkins was born and raised on a ranch in the area of eastern Montana known as the Big Dry. His father and grandfather work hard to make a living off this unforgiving yet starkly beautiful land, but when Wilkins is nine years old, his father dies of cancer. The sparse memories of his father contrast with the vivid portraits of the many men in Wilkins' hometown who in various small (or in the case of his grandfather, big) ways teach him what it means to be a man and ultimately help him escape from a life he was not meant to live. The character of his mother and the story of his parents' courtship and love also loom large. Wilkins tells his story with poetry and heart. This is a book about growing up with loss and discovery, loneliness and love, and how stories can sustain us all as we make our way through the world. I highly recommend this book.

I am a high school English teacher, and I have purchased at least ten copies of this book. Students "borrow" the book, and often the book doesn't quite make it back. In this case, the book is passed along to others. Anyone who starts reading this book can't put it down.

While this book does an excellent job of describing many aspects of Machine Learning, it doesn't live up to its title of showing you how to apply M.L. techniques to Penetration Testing.**HOWEVER** If this book was retitled: "M.L. for Dummies", I would give it 5 stars!!! Note that I'm not mocking the author or potential reader - it really is an **excellent** introduction for newcomers to the M.L. field - exactly what the "...for Dummies" book series is intended to be!The vast majority of this book is spent describing concepts and algorithms for M.L., which I feel the author is very technically qualified to teach. His writing style is very approachable, and he is very, very adept at relating these complicated topics to newcomers in the M.L. field. In fact, I don't recall another source that can convey, in so few words, these deeply technical thoughts as easily as this book.The closest thing in this book describing M.L. "for Pentesting" is probably the 40 pages of chapters 8 and 9, which mostly name-drop various tools that can be used to investigate perturbing training data to influence an M.L. model's classification capabilities. No mention is made in this section on how to use these tools and techniques for *Penetration* *Testing* - only for perturbing training data, which the author doesn't describe how to utilize for an actual Pentest-type of attack!Chapter 10 may be the most undersold chapter in this book. It covers best practices for Feature Engineering - something that you *must* master in order to use M.L. The lucid descriptions in this chapter, alone, almost justified my purchase price!Again, I think this is a great book written by a very competent author who has a gift for conveying very detailed technical matter in an easy-to-grasp way. His writing style is very approachable, and this book is an easy read for the newcomer to M.L.In fact, if you are new to M.L., I recommend reading this book, first, to see if it is even something that you may want to partake of.But - again - this book is *not* a "Machine Learning for Pentesting" book. It doesn't come close to hitting this mark, in my opinion.

For me, this was a good introduction to Machine Learning with regards to Pentesting. Some interesting concepts and just enough information to wet your appetite to look further into ML. Recommend it for anyone with an interest to get a good base to start at.

Will Asha be able to forgive him?This is a great story once I started it I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between them is off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Wow this book had some twists!!! A girl disappoints her family and gets pregnant in highschool and they give that kid up! Flash forward the girls dad basically arranges her to get married to one of his business partners son but what happens when she marries the wrong brother bc he’s a twin oh oh...

I'm not going to lie. At first, I was ready to quit reading this. But I stayed with it and I'm soo glad I did. It's well written and the characters are entertaining.

I couldn't wait to read this book when I purchased it and it was just as good as I imagined. It was cute, sexy, fun with betrayal, loyalty, sadness, longing... Was just a bit too short for my taste

An arranged marriage with a difference. I wished I could have given the story 3 and a half stars, because as enjoyable as it was the end seemed to rush upon you.

This is wellwritten and fastpaced pageturner.It has an intriguing storyline and lovely characters. I loved Rustin and the chemistry he has with Asha.

I really enjoyed this book. The characters were interesting and the story line was good. I couldn’t put this book down until I finished it.

Not having read any other books by the author before, I didn’t know what to expect before reading the book. Needless to say, I was impressed with the storyline and the characters themselves. The intensity of their chemistry was sizzling and the story itself was full of twists and turns to keep you reading until the very end.At the beginning of the story we get to meet Asha Preston, the only child of James Preston and heir to the Conglomerate Empire. She has it all, but being an only child comes with drawbacks as her parents start to get more overprotective the older she gets. Her parents have created a massive empire and they want to her to continue their legacy. But that all almost ends when her life takes a turn of events at the age of sixteen. Asha knows that her life will never be the same no matter how hard her parents try to put the past behind them. It will always haunt her, but she is ready to take her place in the company especially after her parents informed her that she is going to marry into anther powerful family. Marrying Adare Sphinx for business purposes should have been the end of their deal, yet she never expected to feel a pull towards him that she can’t avoid. He is different and when he proposes for them to marry right away she accepts. Little did she know that she was marrying his twin brother Rustin Sphinx instead. Now she has to figure out a way to end the marriage before it’s too late.Rustin Sphinx has it all, the looks and wealth to get just about any woman he might want. But being a twin has its drawbacks, not only does he have to compete for his father’s attention, he also has to compete for the CEO position of his father’s pharmaceutical company. Even though he is the oldest by a couple minutes, his younger brother Adare is his father’s favorite son or at least that what Rustin thinks and he is over being overlooked at. He wants to show them that he is just as capable of getting things done so decides to marry Adare’s soon-to-be bride, Asha without her finding out. But the more time he spends with her the more he wants to keep her as his. It is then that the two are thrown into a series of events that they have to go through, ones that will test their relationship, threatening to end what they have.I really enjoyed reading this quick read. There is so much more to it than what we see in the synopsis, it is a true roller-coaster ride that will definitely exceed expectations. Rustin is your typical playboy with a soft heart that just wants to be noticed by his dad. He is truly kind and protective when it comes to Asha and at the end he went above and beyond for her (which I loved!). Asha has been through so much and get to find out more at the beginning of the story, it was truly sad but it all turns out well for her in the end. I cannot recommend it enough, will definitely be reading more from the author in the future. :)***I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.***

When I sat down to write this review ; as a rabbit lover I wanted a way to describe my level of disappointment when I received my order of this book. The adage that came to mind was; carrot or the stick ?I hoped this book would be a carrot even though the reviews I read don't give a lot of detail. My personal opinion is that I received the stick.What I read in the current description (which is current as of 5/6/17 the day I write this review.)- * 40 expertly illustrated rabbit designs in this coloring book....**professional quality designs from start to finish.*Here's what I found going through this book. Illustrations that don't at all look like professional level artists drew them and, don't appear to all be of rabbits either. Here's what I and another family member ( who is an artist feel we found. )-14 rabbits-11 pugs- 10 unrecognizable animals- 2 Ardvarks- 2 Hippos- 1 ArmadiloHaving raised several domestic rabbits and rehabilitate many wild rabbits. I have never seen any whose heads and body look like too many of these illustrations look to giveit anything other than 1 star because that is as low as this rating system goes.The paper is basic thin copy paper all my markers bled through and all gel pens from my most expensive to cheapest bled through. Gel pens with a higher water ratio will warp your picture.For these reasons I didn't enjoy my experience with this coloring book and wouldn't recommend it to others.
