WOW--what a "red herring" in this book, as I did not see it coming. An unidentified bomber at Penn Station in New York. Michael Swann, while on a business trip to New York, disappears in the midst of the turmoil. His wife, Julia, leaves their home state of PA to search for him in New York. I wasn't fond reading about the early life of Michael and Julia, when they met, how they fell in love, etc. I wanted to always be in the exciting part of the book, waiting for Michael and Julia trying to find one another. The ending blew my mind. Kudos to the author for an excellent read!
I started this book yesterday. I continued reading at dinner tonight (yes, i live alone). It is now 12:38pm, I have been reading at my kitchen table since 8:15 because I could not put it down.........and just finished it.Get it...grab a confortable seat and tissues. As you read, everything you think you know, you don't. The twists and turns are stupefying and yet believable. Without a doubt the best book that I have read in a long time.
I could not put this down--read it straight through. And,I'm still processing it. I would like to read "The Real Michael Swann" in a bookclub, to hear others' experiences. There were times when I was ljving the book with the characters, and that rarely happens to me. A MUST read. Bravo!!!
Author of Finding Jake which I LOVED ! Beginning of book actually gave me nightmare. I guess that’s a good writer. This book could definitely have triggers for anyone disturbed by memories of 9-11. The direction of this book was right in front of me but I didn’t catch-on til close to the end. I don’t want to spoil anything, so no hints here on what was really happening. Mr. Reardon - you got me !
The Real Michael Swann is captivating. Keeps you on the edge of your seat and has you constantly guessing as to what will happen. If mystery, suspense, and thrill is your thing -- this book is for you!
Bryan Reardon writes in such a fluid, natural way that his books are easy to read and hard to put down. This novel kept my interest both in the mystery involving Michael Swann as well as in the relationships of the characters. The doubt created by circumstances and the decisions made by the people involved made me wonder what I would do if I were one of the cast of characters. I found both this book and Finding Jake to be very relevant with current events which leads to great discussions.
Great thriller, quick read- full of twists and nonstop suspense. Plus it was credible and the characters were likeable- was hard to put down at the beach. His other novel- Finding Jacob- was even better and similarly kept you hooked until the end!
This is an app incredible and captivating read. It kept me interested from beginning until the end. I would recommend this book to anyone. It had a superb storyline and message.
